State Library of Queensland Card

SLQ Business Centre

May 31, 2017 by Tinni Choudhury in business

This was a busy month for me, and one of the things I got up to was finally getting out to the State Library of Queensland and checking out their facilities.

Firstly, I attended one of the lunchtime forums in the SLQ Business Studio and was impressed enough to take out a membership of the SLQ. It is a great little space for entrepreneurs and start-ups on a budget. I haven't taken advantage of the networking opportunities the SLQ Business Studio offers but I am keen to see what their "Entrepreneur in Residence" program can offer.

Lastly, I booked out the study rooms in the SLQ to use a private meeting space. It worked out well. The view was great, the booking process was easy although the rooms booked quickly. So preplanning is necessary if you want the rooms for specific times. But as the person I was meeting was flexible, I could work around what was available. I wouldn't call the SLQ study spaces to be the perfect solution if you need regular private meeting spaces. But its a great free alternative for entrepreneurs on a shoestring budget.
